Rick Astley dan RickRoll’d
Last week, I went with Roy for lunch. At our way back to his office, we saw this big billboard of ‘Rick Astley in Concert’. You can see the big signboard accross Taman Ria Senayan. Well, I never knew Rick Astley before, not in my generation - later I found out his famous songs.
The song is “Never gonna give you up”, its a former #1 song in the US, UK and so on. It was a big song way back when in 1987. Howeverrrr… the famous song (video clip) has been a popular prank tools. When a person clicks on the link given and is led to the web page he/she is said to have been “Rickrolled”. By extension, it can also mean playing the song loudly in public in order to be disruptive.
The first time I got pranked was following the link given by blogger regarding the Halo3 review.. It leads to Astley’s video clip. I’m not aware of it, but i do like the song.
And just now, I followed a post in reddit “20 years ago, the youngest, bravest and best in China were brutally murdered while peacrfully demontrating in favor of democracy. We must never forget the Tieneman Square massacre of 1989″. One of the users give a comment :
He’s referring to the slightly less famous one that never quite made its way into the history books.
Here’s one example of RickRoll in real life.
I like the song, and with the video clip will makes you smile. You can see the real hilarious 80’s style video clip in YouTube, it’s been viewed more than 16million times.
and this one , don’t click it.. you’ve been warned.
