Upgraded to WP 2.0.7
Beberapa minggu terakhir saya mendapatkan cukup banyak spam, selain menjengkelkan karena dalam 1 minggu saya perlu me-moderate hampir 1000 comment spam, juga mengakibatkan wwweb saya menjadi lambat. Cek sana sini, ternyata saya tidak sendirian, hampir sebagian besar pengguna WP juga mengalami hal yg sama.
Solusinya ?

Ada 5 langkah yang perlu di ikuti dan sialnya ada beberapa perubahan code yg saya lakukan terhadap beberapa file WP, dan kebiasaan buruk saya kembali membayang2i - i dont have any documentation. Itu pertama, yang kedua mungkin selama ini saya sudah terbiasa hidup dalam commercial software industry. Semua patch, error, upgrade or so whatever bisa dibilang tersedia otomatis. At some point, apalagi di dunia yg di klaim ‘kapitalis’ ini dimana semua barang dan jasa dibandrol dengan harga, commercial software can makes yourself easier. It costs you though, but for some people it will worth to pay. I mean, if you are a gifted geek with strong IT background, and been there done that experiences - this kind of stuff would be just another some sort of entertainment..
Anyway, WP is open source and it’s matter for them.. So there are only two options for me to resolve this spam and performance thingy, either I need to do it myself OR ask someone I trust and kind enough to do the upgrade for me ^_^
I choose the first one…
Amazingly, it’s only took me about half an hour to do the upgrade… and the documentation I state above, it’s just works! Including my custom codes, plugins, themes, etc. Mudah2an saja dengan di upgrade nya WP ini, spam bisa berkurang dan performance bisa kembali lancar..
